Two BVS Products Honored as Finalists in Cygnus Law Enforcement Group's Innovation AwardsOctober 31, 2011 (New York, NY) --Cygnus Law Enforcement Group’s Innovation Awards recipients were announced at a ceremony and banquet during the 118th International Association of Chiefs of Police conference and exposition held in Chicago. The awards program showcased cutting-edge advances in the field of law enforcement, judged by a panel of veteran law enforcement professionals for innovativeness, productivity, quality, contribution, ease of use and maintainability. Entrants compete in 13 categories including: Body Armor & Safety, Communications, Computers, Corrections & Security, Firearms & Weapons, Training, Uniforms & Apparel, and Vehicles & Vehicle Accessories. “The law enforcement community is very interested in the new products that rise to the top every year,” Brand Director Patrick Bernardo said. “They’re always looking for the equipment that will make law enforcers’ duties easier, and their time on the streets better managed and safer.” Berkeley’s Wolfhound PRO and Watchhound products (images enclosed below) were finalists in the Corrections and Security category. The Wolfhound PRO cell phone detector is a handheld wireless sniffer specifically tuned to the RF signature of common cell phones. Its high speed scanning receiver utilizes a multi-band DF (Direction Finding) antenna system allowing security personnel to locate nearby cell phones in either standby mode or during active voice, text or data transmissions, making it the perfect tool for enforcing a “NO WIRELESS” security policy. The Watchhound cell Phone Security Monitor continuously scans any cell phone-prohibited area for wireless activity, essentially creating wireless-free zones without the need for jamming. All incoming and outgoing cellular calls are detected (in active or standby mode) and time stamped for later analysis. The Watchhound receiver can also be configured to look like a common thermostat on any wall for more covert enforcement and features an ultra-crisp OLED display, remote control and utilizes Power (PoE) over Ethernet. |
