BVS Announces EVDO Verizon Support for Squid-PRO At Connected World Expo
Berkeley Varitronics Systems' M2M Cell Tower Tester Now Supports Verizon's EVDO Standard
METUCHEN, NJ, June 1, 2012 -- Berkeley Varitronics Systems, Inc. (BVS), a leading provider of advanced wireless test solutions and security products to the domestic and international wireless telecommunications industry, has released Squid-PRO™ supporting all major wireless carriers including Verizon's EVDO standard. BVS will be premiering and demonstrating the new Squid-PRO™ at booth 219 in this year's Connected World Expo in St. Charles, Illinois.
Squid-PRO™ 3G Cell Tower Tester is a handheld receiver aimed at the booming wireless M2M installation market. The Squid-PRO™ provides installers a real time display of local 3G carriers' base stations and their respective signal strength or RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). Squid-PRO™ identifies RSSI, carrier network and type of 3G technology (UMTS, CDMA, GSM and GPRS, etc.) for all 4 major U.S. carriers. This data provides installers with enough information to make key installation site decisions as well as optimal antenna placement all in an effort to choose the best mobile carrier for their particular site. Gone are the days where installers and electricians relied on consumer grade cell phones for important install decisions.
Squid-PRO™ contains multiple radios and multi-band antennae for several U.S. network carriers. No SIM activation or monthly contracts are required. Instead of installers juggling between several cell phones to guesstimate the best coverage for their M2M site, a single Squid-PRO™ can provide all the data needed to make installation site location decisions and optimizations. In addition, Squid-PRO™ supports up to 3 simultaneous external antenna (SMA) connections allowing installers to optimize antenna placement. Squid-PRO™ has an ultra-crisp and bright OLED display and integrated GPS receiver for time-stamped and geo-located measurements for further analysis.
The Squid-PRO™ solves issues faced by M2M contractors installing ATMs, electric vehicle charging stations, utility metering, vending machines and kiosks of all types. The device's simple operation and precision signal strength measurements allow anyone to pick the best carrier and antenna placement at a given location.
BVS CEO and Security Expert, Scott Schober will be featured as a LIVE guest on the Peggy Smedley Radio Show at the Connected World Expo on June 11th. BVS will also demonstrate the Squid-PRO™ and other M2M and cellular test solutions in BOOTH 219 at the Connected World Expo from June 11th through June 13th in St. Charles, Illinois.
Squid-PRO™ is available now direct from BVS. Visit www.bvsystems.com for more information.
