Berkeley Updates 1xRTT CDMA 2000 Receivers for EVDO

METUCHEN, New Jersey. -- April 3, 2006 -- Berkeley Varitronics Systems, Inc., the leader in CDMA and Wi-Fi propagation test tools has released updates for its popular Condor™ and Raven™ PN scanners. Condor Dual Band Cellular & PCS Pilot Scanner (1xRTT) now measures EVDO signal strength (Ec/Io) for pilots I & Q. In additon, Condor™ now indicates if the network detected is either EVDO or 1xRTT capable.

Raven™ PN Scanner now supports the popular NMT-450 networks appearing across Baltic regions and in countries such as Russia, Pakistan and Thailand. Raven™ also indicates if the network is EVDO or 1XRTT capable.

Condor™ and Raven™ are portable PN scanners equipped with internal GPS receivers and designed to measure CDMA frequencies (Condor does both) for IS-95B and 1xRTT/CDMA 2000 base stations for Cellular and PCS. Serial & USB ports allow data monitoring and recording via any laptop PC. The units are designed for use in CDMA drive or indoor studies because the base station's system time and ID are derived from internal Sync and Paging (layer III messages) Channel Demodulation. Both include data logging software.
