Squid-PRO™ M2M install tool is designed for M2M 2G/3G installers or electrical contractors on-the-go. This award-winning*, portable tester receives all common standards (Cellular, GPRS, GSM, PCS, CDMA, UMTS, Verizon EVDO) and identifies all 4 major (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, & T-Mobile) U.S. and European carriers. These signal strength and quality measurements allow M2M installers to make quick but informed decisions for placement of components such as antennas as well as M2M 3G modems. This realtime signal strength analysis allows critical decisions to be made before expensive deployment begins and also allows the technicians to deploy their buildout much faster. Gone are the days of relying on cheap consumer phones and their unreliable signal reception bars. Does Squid-PRO communicate with the base stations?

No. Squid-PRO is a passive receiver that only receives and displays signal strength of local wireless carriers.

 

Can Squid-PRO measure Wi-Fi, WiMAX or other similar IEEE standards?

Squid-PRO measures Cellular, CDMA, PCS, GSM and GPRS.

Does Squid-PRO support direction finding?

Yes. Some of our customers purchase the optional DF antenna package for more focused surveys. Just be sure to first use the supplied omni-directional antenna to acquire a full list of local base stations before exchanging that for the DF antenna.

Does Squid-PRO measure every single carrier in the area?

The Squid-PRO product line measures all major carriers including Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile but some Squid models do not measure every carrier. Be sure to check with your BVS sales agent before ordering.

Does Squid-PRO measure 2G, 3G & 4G?

The Squid-PRO measures 2G and 3G but does not currently support 4G carriers.
