Mongoose Signal Strength Meter
The Mongoose
is a light-weight, hand-held receiver that's ideal for quick indoor
sweeps by propagators. A removable/rechargeable battery allows users to quickly get back out into the field for taking measurements all day. Mongoose displays the strongest 3 channels simultaneously for instant comparison. Scan table data may even be uploaded to Mongoose via the included software.

The Mongoose
Data Transfer application software is the Windows 95/98 interface
that enables a user of the BVS Mongoose Receiver to upload scan table data and retrieve scanned data. The Mongoose
Data Transfer application (MDT) also retrieves receiver information
from the Mongoose, providing the minimum and maximum frequencies as
well as the channel step size. The MDT application main screen consists
of the main menu, system status bars, and a scan table editor area.
The scan table edit area includes the scan table grid, receiver informaton,
and associated buttons to retrieve, save, and clear the table editor.

-
- How
do I get my data out of the Mongoose?
- Use
the included serial cable and attach it from the Mongoose to your
PC. Use the included Mongoose Data Transfer software to download the
data.
-
-
- What
is the difference between the Mongoose and Ultra-Lite?
- Mongoose
contains an internal storage system for saving data for further post-processing
analysis of all data. Mongoose also allows for up to three channels
to be displayed at once for realtime comparison. In addition, Mongoose
contains more robust features such as a fully configurable backlit
display, audio demodulation and off-the-shelf DeWalt Ni-Cad battery
and charger.
