Berkeley Varitronics Systems Unleashes WatchHound Cell Phone Monitor at the American Jail Association Expo in Ohio
METUCHEN, NJ, May 11, 2011 -- Berkeley Varitronics Systems, Inc. (BVS), a leading provider of advanced wireless solutions and security products to the domestic and international wireless telecommunications industry, announces the release of the WatchHound Cell Phone Monitor.
Unauthorized cell phones are a growing problem as they enter restricted areas such as secure federal facilities and correctional facilities. The WatchHoundä Cell Phone Monitor addresses this growing security threat where confidential information cannot afford to be compromised. The WatchHoundä Cell Phone Monitor continuously scans 24/7 any cell phone prohibited area essentially creating wireless-free zones without the need for jamming. All incoming and outgoing cellular calls are detected and time stamped for analysis. The unit can visually alert the offender that they have been caught as well as produce an audible message that states ‘CELL PHONE DETECTED’. The unit is simple to install with the supplied wall mount kit and communicates via Ethernet. There is no need to plug into the wall socket as it is POE-Power Over Ethernet capable. There is also a dry switch (SPST) contact output allowing the user to trigger a light, siren or a camera/DVR to record the offender.
Security Products magazine recently announced that the WatchHoundä Cell Phone Monitor received the prestigious GOLD Award in Washington DC at the 2011 Government Security Awards. “We are proud to receive this honor and recognition for our latest offering to the security industry. As a result we have already received numerous orders for multiple systems being deployed within the US and abroad“ said Scott Schober, President & CEO of BVS.
