Pepsico
Back in 1987, BVS designed a "Telelink" remote data gathering system (under contract) for Pepsi-Cola. This system tracked revenue, the number and kind of purchases and the operational status of vending machines. This data was then radioed back to the bottling plant and used to optimize service management. The contract included design, programming and manufacturing of the first 600 units, after which, Sanden Corporation of Japan took over the project for mass production. Today, Berkeley still provides custom modules and components to Pepsi-Cola on a daily basis. We have designed a half-dozen unique solutions and continue consulting on related projects for Pepsi-Cola. All together, BVS has manufactured and shipped thousands of wireless and wired items integral to Pepsi-s nationwide installation projects.

In 1999 BVS entered into an agreement with Datum to design and produce up to 10,000 CDMA receivers. Pre-prodcution quantities have already been shipped of the new dual-band units. These "Time Windows" are capable of receiving both Cellular and PCS CDMA signals and are used to provide precise timing reference signals; achieivng a stability between a Cesium and Hydrogen-maser standard.
