Releasing Tortoise™ Into the Wild

BVS has begun shipping the Tortoise™ Multi-Band Stimulus Transmitter to eager customers. Tortoise transmitters feature simultaneous multi-band capability, AC or DC operation, two Class A amplifiers for the purest signal transmissions and VSWR and overheating circutiry protection. This is all housed in a rugged, portable casing weighing under 20 pounds. The transmitter features complete control directly from it's keypad entry, dial-in knob and 1/2 VGA LCD display as well as remote control via any PC using RS-232, USB or Ethernet ports. Tortoise outputs up to 45 Watts (Cellular) and up to 20 Watts in each band (PCS). In addition BVS has developed WiMAX modulators for the ultimate in WiMAX simulation and drive-study analysis.

Reeling in WiMAX with YellowFin

YellowFin™ is making a splash in the field of WiMAX analysis on a preamble basis. That's because YellowFin™ is a Mobile WiMAX analyzer that uses a precision receiver to not only capture 2.0 - 5.9 GHz RF spectrum analysis but also 802.16e Cell ID and Segment packet data. YellowFin™ has all the features customers have come to expct from Berkeley products including an integrated high-resolution tablet PC interface, true portability (under 5 lbs.) and a precision receiver (+ 1.5 dB accuracy) module that includes internal GPS and it's own power system. Optional features include direction finding antennae for locating WiMAX interference sources and DragNet™ site survey software for GPS-based WiMAX mapping coverage studies.
