FAQs |
BVS has put together the most comprehensive WiMAX analysis package available for either 802.16e Mobile WiMAX or 802.16d Fixed WiMAX networks. Tortoise is a portable, dual-band stimulus transmitter that can transmit modulated WiMAX perfect for simulating a WiMAX base station. The YellowFin analyzer series are calibrated, handheld receivers that assist engineers in everything from installation to network interference to multipath analysis. Finally, DragNet site survey software grabs realtime meaurements from any WiMAX deployment and overlays that coverage data onto GPS accurate maps and floorplans. And if that's still not enough, Berkeley has even released a YellowFin-OEM WiMAX receiver module with an SDK for clients that wish to create their own custom software packages to sell or use in their own WiMAX network studies.

- Does
the YellowFin do 802.11b/g or 802.11a studies?
-
- While the YellowFin does scan the spectrum that common 802.11 Wi-Fi devices operate on, it does not demodulate Wi-Fi packets. YellowFin was designed for WiMAX installations, troubleshooting and interference detection.
