WatchHound-Pro™ wireless network monitor detects and alerts security personnel on any PEDs (Personal Electronic Devices) usage including all 2G/3G/4G/5G (non-mmWave) cellular, wi-fi, bluetooth or BLE devices in secure areas. It works by detecting all nearby wireless activity. Visual and audio alerts identify potential wireless threats by signal strength, timestamp, and other vital parameters. WatchHound-Pro is completely self-contained, (PoE) powered over ethernet and includes a passcode touchscreen interface for tamper-resistant settings and control over all parameters.

No PC or any external device is required to operate and secure your facility, but the unit can be connected to any ethernet network which provides power. WatchHound-Pro supports optional directional antennas for pinpointing areas of interest and can be mounted to a portable stanchion anywhere or a fixed wall, stairwell, corridor, etc. located near a secure perimeter.

The self-contained wireless monitor is ideal for detecting and time-stamping of all activity including unauthorized BLE devices such as smartwatches, AirTags and other trackers, rogue Wi-Fi devices such as access points and illegal cellular smartphones in use or even in standby mode.

Does WatchHound-Pro identify callers or their phone numbers?

No. WatchHound-Pro is a passive RF cellular scanning receiver and deterrent that identifies cellphone activity (both standby mode and active modes) and alerts security personnel. It is a fixed wireless device used by security officers and personnel that require a NO WIRELESS security policy.

How far away can I detect wireless devices?

Typical range varies based upon the device and if optional direction finding antennae are used. Bluetooth devices can be detected from about 50 to 100 feet away. Wi-Fi devices can be detected from about 100 to 150 feet away. Cellular devices can be detected about 125 to 250 feet away. These numbers vary even more depending upon RF interference, environment, line of site, placement/installation of unit.

How do I know if a device is a threat

WatchHound-Pro scans for all RF activity and allows users to whitelist known or friendly devices so that only unknown devices can be listed for further interrogation.

Can I detect phones in standby mode?

WatchHound-Pro can detect phones in the standby mode but keep in mind when a phone is ON in standby, it is not constantly transmitting. Phones register to the local cell tower/base stations at different intervals that the tower/carrier determines (could be every few seconds, minutes, and we have seen up to 20 minutes). When a phone registers, it is a short pulse of less than 1 second so the WallHound might only flash once and play the audio alert once instead of continually.

Can WatchHound-Pro be networked to other devices or security systems?

WallHound is contains (and can be powered via) an ethernet port for connection to a network. This allows advanced monitoring through additional software. WatchHound-Pro also includes dry contacts that allow it to be triggered from other detection devices such as our SentryHound-Pro.
